O objetivo \u00e9 verificar sua efici\u00eancia para evitar a propaga\u00e7\u00e3o e transmiss\u00e3o da Covid-19 entre pessoas expostas ao v\u00edrus Sars-CoV-2. O estudo ocorrer\u00e1 de forma simult\u00e2nea em sete centros no Brasil, sendo dois sob responsabilidade da Fiocruz: Mato Grosso do Sul e Rio de Janeiro. A coordena\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 dos pesquisadores Julio Croda e Margareth Dalcolmo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Para avaliar o uso de Molnupiravir como profilaxia p\u00f3s-exposi\u00e7\u00e3o (PEP), ser\u00e3o avaliados indiv\u00edduos que foram expostos ao v\u00edrus, ou seja, que residem com uma pessoa que testou positivo para Covid-19 nas \u00faltimas 72 horas e apresenta pelo menos um\u00a0sintoma associado \u00e0 doen\u00e7a, al\u00e9m de outros crit\u00e9rios espec\u00edficos exigidos no protocolo de pesquisa.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Al\u00e9m do Rio de Janeiro e Mato Grosso do Sul, os demais polos no pa\u00eds est\u00e3o distribu\u00eddos entre os estados do Amazonas, Rio Grande do Sul e S\u00e3o Paulo. O tratamento consiste no uso do medicamento, por via oral, duas vezes ao dia, durante cinco dias consecutivos.
